March 17, 2010 or what to do.

This blog seems very superfluous to me. I don't try and get a date by Friday and if I do, it is with my boyfriend. I wrote this blog to compliment my book, but that is done being written and now in the works of finding an agent/editor.
My other friends are either dropping like flies into the marriage soup, not dating at all, or no longer talking to me since I met Bryan.
I stare at my laptop screen for minutes at a time at this little typing box going, "Well, fuck if I know what to write about!" I don't want to write about Bryan, even though he is perfect. We aren't funny, and the things I would write about are very personal. And I really don't want to cheat on him just to have stories to write about involving bad dates.
So, here I sit. Is there anything people would like me to write about? Because I am stumped. Or, I could stop altogether and you would have one less blog to read.
Help.

Let's see. You could devote the blog to your friends' misery, you could veer off into fiction, you could write about your lovable-yet-crazy pets, or you turn that laser focus onto your incredibly wonderful family, all of whom are easy to mine for laughs.

I recently heard a podcast by Dan Savage about how to become a sex columnist if one basically didn't have much experience. Savage said the thing to do is not make it about your own life, but about the lives of others--i.e., pull from memory, stories from friends (now or past), impromtu interviews on subjects with acquaintances about subjects relevant to the blog (think Carrie's interviews on Sex and the City, season 1).

Or, if it's just a drag, it's not like you have to keep doing it. I always enjoy reading it, but if you feel like its time to move on, thats okay too. You shouldn't feel like a blog is holding you hostage you know! Matt had a very successful political blog when he was in grad school, but at some point just didn't feel like it was "him" anymore.

Do what's in your heart (how's that for a cliche!)
